HOT-162 Optics Readme file



NOTE: This is the first HOT cruise that the FRRF was used after it
      came back from calibration. The first cruise was HA-9 that we
      went on right before this one.
      

8/14/04

  Checking FRRF : 1415
    - time OK
    - voltage = 14.62V
    - re-formatting flashcard 

  Checking MPAK : 1430
    - re-set time
    - voltage = 12.2V
    - reformatting flashcard
    - ready to calibrate

  Cleaned AC-9 windows & calibrating : 1930
    - temp = 26.1 C

    - note: using inline .2u filter

  AC-9/FRRF cast - in:1330, down:1337, up:1400, out:1420
    - depth    : ~250m using MVP (variable speed) winch
    - rate     : ~10 m/min up/down
    - weather  : 5/8 med cumulus clouds, 8 kt winds from 145 Deg
    - location : 22 47.5 N, 157 59.6 W
    - files    : run.002, pro1h162.bin

  AC-9/FRRF cast (w/ filters) - in:1424, down:1431, up:1456, out:1521
    - depth    : ~250m using MVP (variable speed) winch
    - rate     : ~10 m/min up/down

    - reset time (but profiles seemed to have the correct time)

NOTE:
  Despite having to re-seal the FRRF battery casing, it appeared to have
  worked OK. End battery voltage consistent with past performance.
