HOT-145 Optics Readme file NOTE: Returned MPAK and Battery Pack to Wetlabs between cruises for evaluation. The battery core was swapped out, & hardware "upgrades" were made to the MPAK. 2/24/03 Recharging MPAK & FRRF battery packs : 900a - 3:30a (2/25/03) 2/25/03 Checking MPAK : 410 - reset clock - clearing memory - voltage = 12.1 V Checking FRRF : 424 - time OK - re-formatting flashdisk - voltage = 14.80 V 2/26/03 AC-9/FRRF cast - in:1237, down:1243, up:1310, out:1338 - depth : ~240m using 280m line & capstan - rate : ~10 m/min - weather : 14 kt winds, seastate 3, 5/8 clouds - location : 22 44.0940 N, 157 56.2580 W - voltage : 11.6 V - files : run.003, pro1h145.bin 2/27/03 AC-9/FRRF cast - in:305, down:311, up:338, out:409 (night) - depth : ~240m using 280m line & capstan - rate : ~10 m/min - weather : 14 kt winds, seastate 3 - location : 22 45.1 N, 157 59.8137 W - files : run.004, pro2h145.bin Checking FRRF : 420 - time OK - voltage = 14.53 V - space left = 4,949,644 - downloading data: pro1h145.bin, pro2h145.bin - re-formatting flashdisk Checking AC-9 : 438 - voltage = 11.1 V Male connector (in power cable from MPAK) broke in female connector (on battery pack)! Replaced connector on battery and re-spliced power cable: 1100 Note: only able to re-charge for ~1 hr. AC-9/FRRF cast - in:1202, down:1209, up:1234, out:1301 - depth : ~240m using 280m line & capstan - rate : ~10 m/min - weather : 10 kt winds, seastate 3, 1/8 clouds - location : 22 44.9666 N, 158 0.0338 W - voltage : < 10 V - files : run.007, pro3h145.bin Aborting second AC-9/FRRF cast due to low MPAK battery voltage. Downloading AC-9 data : 1325 - Unable to download data, recharging battery (~2 hrs) - Still unable to download a complete file. Always stops after a variable amount & displays message, "Upload Time Out". Checking FRRF : 1343 - voltage = 14.45 V - time OK - downloading data: pro3h145.bin General Notes: The MPAK has been sent back to Wetlabs to be evaluated ... again. Contact Person: Dave Stahlke (541-929-5650 x15). I believe we managed to get good profiles, the only problem was in my ability to communicate with the MPAK. No calibration was done.
