The files in this file area contain discharge water quality data reported by
various NPDES permit holders in the Mamala Bay region.

The sources for the data are Department of Health, State of Hawaii (DOH) and
from Mr. Marty Stevenson (MB-3) who received the data from the U.S. Navy at
Fort Kamemhameha. Data from Fort Kamehameha is the Navy's internal file format
in Lotus 1-2-3, from which part of the data is reported to DOH. Thus, there is
a duplication of data from Fort Kamehameha.

The data are compressed in three files: 1. DOHNPDS.ZIP, 2. DOHNPDS2.ZIP and
3. FTKAMDMR.ZIP. Data in DOHNPDS.ZIP and DOHNPDS2.ZIP are from DOH and
FTKAMDMR.ZIP is from the U.S. Navy.

Data contained in DOHNPDS.ZIP and DOHNPDS2.ZIP were originally reported in hard
copies in Discharge Monthly Report (DMR) format by the dischargers which is a
standard format required by the U.S. EPA. The values and units reported in the
DMRs were entered in Lotus 1-2-3 files in WK1 formats as it appears in the
DMRs. Data entry was done at DOH by Anne Teruya (808-586-4325). File
DOHNPDS.ZIP includes files compiled through 8/93 and DOHNPDS2.ZIP includes
partial updates through 4/94 and correction made to the data in DOHNPDS.ZIP.
The main correction involves the omition of "less than" (<) sign for some of
the parameters.

Files with TXT extensions are retrievals from Permit Compliance System (PCS)
data base which is an internal (not open to public) on-line database maintained
by the U.S.EPA. DOH is required to enter water quality data from DMRs from
these facilities (considered to be major dischargers) to PCS. The retrievals
were also done at DOH by Anne Teruya.

and 5. DMR93.ZIP. Within each of these zipped files, monthly summary files in
